I hope to learn how to "push" yourself into observing, even when the cooperating teacher doesn't encourage you to... I'm usually willing and helpful, but this situation is tough. I need some tips!!
It was nice to be up infront of the class talking about different types of parental involvement. I thought the discussion about different issues went well. The issue that we did talk about involving house visits was interesting. In a situation like that would it be best to talk to the principal? How would you handel a parent who has a problem?
I thought the parental involvement discussion went really well. I found it interesting because I am not sure as a teacher when I am crossing the line and being more than just a teacher. It really opened up my eyes for me because some parents are not involved with their students academic learning which has a big impact in the classroom.
I'm with Ellen. It was good to finally get in front of the class and actually teach something. I think the most difficult thing about talking with parents is dealing with boundaries. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but we can only learn by doing.

Erica,
Bring this up in class, and we'll see what kind of help we can come up with.
